This Is What Life Looks Like in Volusia County
Every week when I put this list together, I’m reminded of something I try to tell every buyer I work with: Volusia County isn’t just a place to own a home — it’s a way of living. Free oceanfront concerts with fireworks, a 38-year-old street festival on one of Florida’s most beloved avenues, Juneteenth celebrations that bring the community together, waterfront farmers markets on Father’s Day morning — this is what the calendar looks like here all year long.
People don’t move to Daytona Beach just for the real estate values (though those are compelling). They move here for Sunday mornings at the riverside market with a coffee and a view of the Halifax. For spontaneous summer night Bandshell concerts. For the fact that New Smyrna Beach’s Flagler Avenue feels like your neighborhood even if you just moved in.
If you’re considering a move to Central Florida — whether relocating from out of state, looking for a vacation property, or making the move from the suburbs into coastal Volusia County — I’d love to have that conversation. I’ve been working this market for years and I know every community from DeLand to Ormond Beach to New Smyrna Beach.
Enjoy every minute of this Father’s Day weekend. I’ll see you out there.
